Refunds and Transfers for Cooking Classes: Because perishable supplies are purchased for these courses, all cancellations and transfers MUST be received 48 hours prior to the class. If a cancellation or transfer is received after the deadline, we are only able to issue refunds if we are able to fill the spot.

    


Crepes


Crepes are a French delicacy that are easy to create in your own home. Fillings can range from simple sweet sugar, to savory cheese and meats, to classic flambéed crepes Suzette. We will make several varieties of fillings (both sweet and savory,) learn how to make the perfect crepe shell, and enjoy a crepe feast at the end of the evening. Feel free to bring a beverage to enjoy with your crepes.  There is a $20 supply fee payable to the instructor at the class. Instructor: Shayna Ozer. CARD Community Center, Kitchen.

Pie on Your Mind


"Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie." -David Mamet. Pie is practically an art form- A light golden crust, a sweet (but not too sweet) filling, a perfect topping to marry the two together. In class, we will learn how to make the perfect pastry crust, gram cracker crust, and a myriad of fillings and toppings to make all of your pie dreams come true! Please feel free to bring a beverage to enjoy with your pie at the end of class. There is a $20 supply fee payable to the instructor at the class. Instructor: Shayna Ozer. Asian Dumplings

Every culture has their own version of the dumpling; a delicious filling wrapped in a perfect little package. In this class, we will explore amazing dumplings, make the perfect complementary sauces, and end the evening with a dumpling feast! Feel free to bring a beverage to enjoy with your food. Hello Cupcake!

Little individual servings of bliss- Cupcakes are all the rage these days, and go far beyond just chocolate and vanilla! We will discuss what makes a perfect cupcake and how to bake the perfect cake base, make several styles of frosting, and learn many decorating techniques to make your cupcakes perfect. Feel free to bring a beverage to enjoy with your treats at the end of the class. There is a $15 supply fee payable to the instructor at the class. Instructor: Shayna Ozer. Tapas, Hors d'Oeuvres, and Appetizers

Little bites with a big impact! Whether you plan to make a meal out of them, or want something to nosh before the main event, appetizers are a fun way to share a little something extra. We will learn all about how to make the most of that single bite, and what makes a great appetizer. In class, we will make lots of different appetizers from all over the world, and you will go home with the knowledge to throw your own successful appetizer party!Feel free to bring a beverage to enjoy with your food at the end of the class. Homemade Pizza:  Healthy, Nutritious, and Delicious


We all love Pizza, but is it really a healthy food choice?  YES…if it's homemade using FRESH, LOCAL, AND ORGANIC ingredients!  Come join in the fun of making a gluten free rice sourdough crust, a traditional homemade tomato sauce, a basil presto sauce, and a very tasty Iowa Farm Sausage.  For those interested, we can experiment and create a Vegan Pizza too!  This is a "hands-on class" and each participant will bring home the pizza dough starter and an 8" pizza ready to bake and share with family or friends.  There is a $20 supply fee payable to instructor at the first class.  Instructor:  Flo Hamilton, Pizza Extraordinaire and CARD/CUSD ASP Garden Teacher.  Dorothy F.
